Simon at 1 Year!

Simon turned 1 yesterday! I can hardly believe it. The time went so fast (after those initial first few months) .

Mark was home from work yesterday and we enjoyed the day together. After Simon opened his presents (a toy piano and a new book)...


We went to the New York Aquarium. Simon enjoyed seeing the fish, sea turtles, sharks, and walruses.



He then enjoyed some birthday pizza which he loved .



It was a great day!

So what is Simon up to these days (which I am putting down for future posterity )...

Along with his word "anana" Simon also likes singing the "Manha Manha" song from the Muppet Show. I realized this when the song came on the radio and I heard him say "ana, ana, ana, ana." It's pretty funny because he will just start saying it at any time of the day - I guess those "ear worm" songs can affect anyone at any age.

Also, Simon is starting to dislike crawling. He hasn't taken any steps on his own yet but he has taken to cruising along the wall as he sidesteps down the hallway.

It has been an amazing journey these past 12 months. Who knows what the future will bring. We are excited to find out!
