We've scientifically determined that Simon has at least a two-word vocabulary. Last night we were reading Simon "Good Night Moon" and got to the part about the "red balloon." Simon looked up from the book and stared straight at the ceiling where there were two balloons left over from his party! To be sure it wasn't a fluke, this morning while Simon was playing with his toys Susan asked, "Simon, where's the balloon?" Simon looked at Susan and then looked straight up at the balloons again.
We did a similar experiment and found he also knows the word "ball."
What else is going on in that brilliant mind?

...and how many UNIX commands does he know already?

None yet, though he taught me a few shortcut keys in Linux that I didn't know before like Windows+M turns the screen negative and Windows+ScrollWheel zooms in.
We've also noticed some other words he's learned like "button", "bottle", "diaper", and of course "dadadadadadadadadada" and "mumumumumum".
