Along with the party, Mark created an ingenious guest book where guests could sign in and take their picture using a web cam (OK I helped a little bit with the idea ) . In the future, Simon can see who came to his party. Check it out here...
We just returned from Harrisburg where on Saturday, August 22nd, Grandma Barbara and Grandpa Marvin threw Simon a great party! Since we didn't have a Bris or Christening, we had a welcoming party for Simon where he met many of his friends and relatives. Simon had a great time and loved meeting everyone. Here are some pictures from the event - a special thanks to Mark and Linda for their photography! By the way, Simon was getting tooth number 7. That's why he has his hand in his mouth for most of the pictures
So here it is, August 19th already. Has it really been 9 months? Three quarters of a year?! At this rate, November will be here before we know it. What's new in Simon's world... Simon has perfected a regular crawl. He gets around pretty quickly these days keeping me busy trailing after a precocious 9 month old (I'm sure it only gets better ).
Simon is also using anything and everything to pull up to a standing position and cruise around on the furniture.
When he actually does play with his toys, his favorites are the stacking cups, which he loves to knock down, clang together, and put one inside the other. (Note: he didn't actually stack those shown in this picture - not yet anyway ).
Simon is also growing bigger. At his 9 month checkup today, we learned that he is 30 inches tall and just shy of 23 pounds putting him in the 90 percentile for both. According to the doctor we have a "little linebacker."
We just returned on Monday from 5 days at Fenwick Island in Delaware. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. D for letting us stay at their lovely condo! Simon had a blast with Grandpa and Grandma (who turned the big 6-0). Simon also loved playing in the pool and digging in the sand.

Simon has picked up on a fun new activity, clapping! After introducing him to the maraca and some shakers, Simon is moving on to clapping. Here he is showing off his new skill.
Time is really flying now! Simon turned 8 months old yesterday. His favorite activity is pulling himself up - mostly on the crib but anything (including me) will do. Simon has also perfected his army crawling technique. It looks like he is ready for basic training because he is pretty quick at getting around our apartment. Simon also loves his maraca so much that we are going to take a music class together starting tomorrow. We can't wait to see what changes the next month will bring!

It has been a rough week for Simon who grew 3 teeth in 9 days! OUCH! Simon is now up to 5 teeth in total. The new teeth are still gum level but it looks like they have thankfully pushed through. Hopefully, Simon will have some relief soon and his teeth will come in one at a time from now on.
