Simon at the Zoo

This past weekend, we took Simon to the Prospect Park Zoo. It was his first time seeing animals other than dogs. The verdict...Simon didn't seem to sure of these peculiar looking creatures. Here is Simon with the sea lion. Perhaps he is wondering if mommy and daddy want him to get in the big bathtub with this thing ?

He seemed to warm up to the farm animals that they have at the zoo and was particularly interested in the chickens. Maybe next time we'll take a trip to a farm.

Simon Loves his Books

A few weeks ago while Simon and I were in his room, I noticed something pretty cool. Simon loves his books!

We keep a basket of books in Simon's room stocked with all of his favorites. While Simon was playing, I looked over at the basket and started reciting one of the books. He stopped what he was doing and went over and picked out the book I was reciting. I thought this must be a fluke so I recited another book and he picked out that one too. He did it again 3 more times .

Here is a demonstration from this past weekend.

A Ride on The Carousel

Last weekend, Grandma and Grandpa visited from Harrisburg to see the new place and of course, Simon.

We decided it would be a perfect time to take our little cowboy on the Prospect Park Carousel. It started out promising with a few smiles and interested glances at the beautiful horses.

Then the carousel started and Simon wasn't too thrilled. Clinging onto daddy he looked rather petrified. And afterwards a bit green around the gills. Perhaps we'll try again in a few months .

We're Ba-ack

Sorry we've been gone for so long. We are starting to really settle into our new place now. Simon is enjoying his new home and likes the bigger space for greater crawling challenges.

In the time we have been gone, Simon turned 10 months old, gained a new tooth (number 8 for those who are counting), is getting steadier at walking with our help, and is starting to stand without holding on to anything. The changes are amazing .

Here are some recent pictures of our little guy who is growing up too fast.
