Simon surprised me today by not toppling over when I sat him up! He is getting better balance (possibly since we are using the Bumbo seat). Here he is sitting still.

Simon at 4 Months - More Shots and Starting Solids!
Wow today was a whirlwind!
We first went to the doctor for Simon's 4 month checkup. Simon is now 13 pounds 12 ounces (42nd percentile) and 25 inches long (71st percentile). Simon also received more shots which he wasn't very happy about but has since decided that he will not hold a grudge. Here is Simon showing off his band-aids in his amply growing thighs.
We also received the go ahead from the doctor to start water and solids. After being told Simon will probably not like the water, we found out that he certainly loves it. He promptly took 2 ounces.
It was then time for the star of the show. RICE CEREAL! Simon was quite intrigued by the texture and taste of this new treat. It took a few spoonfuls for him to catch on but once he did, he liked it and was asking for more. Here are a few pictures of this "momentous" occasion.
We'll soon have videos too.

Simon at 16 weeks
Simon is 16 weeks old today! What is Simon up to these days? He is all about talking to mommy and daddy, singing to his mobile and rolling over onto his side (aka bringing his legs up and flinging them across his body to propel himself over to one side. Simon's day out in Brooklyn
Simon enjoyed the beautiful weather yesterday with his first stroller outing sans car seat! We were thrilled because it made pushing the stroller so much easier. Simon also seemed quite happy and comfortable in his stroller now that he has extra leg room.
Later in the day, we also took Simon on his first ever subway ride! He didn't get upset or nervous with the loud noise - he is a true Brooklyn Boy. Our destination was to Mark's parents' house to celebrate Grand Grandpa Sol's 88th birthday!
